The New Apple iCloud for OS 5

Although my iPhone crashed and had to be restored in order to upgrade to Apple’s new OS 5 update and firmware upgrade, I have found the more than 200 upgrades and updates to be very useful and worthy improvements.  A few of the key features I find most valued are the push notifications, the Airport Utility app and Find Friends app that only works on the new OS 5 for iPhone.  I am still exploring though…

My favorite feature thus far is of course the iCloud. Using your Apple ID, you can get your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, and PC set up. Just follow these instructions and you’ll be up and running in no time.  Once your iCloud is set up, it will store your content and wirelessly push it to all your devices.

Here’s an example, buy a song with iTunes on your computer, and it will appear on your iPod touch and iPad. When you snap a photo on your iPhone it will automatically be sent to your iPad. You can start creating a Pages document on your iPhone, and put the finishing touches on it from your iPad. There’s no need to dock or sync to your computer.  With iCloud, it just happens.

Now I’m off to go get the new iPhone 4s, then I’ll be totally up up and away in the beautiful iCloud to stay.

Steve Jobs, the Apple of Earths’ Eye

Last night, while having a flashback from the eighties at a Night Ranger, Foreigner, and Journey rock concert being held in Concord, CA, one of my social media friends Helen Michael sent me the following message on my iPhone…

This is of course very sad news and a sad day indeed.  As the owner of a MacBook Pro, an iPad, an iPhone, and an iPod, all Apple products of which I use each and every day, I will always be reminded daily of the company and the many products that Steve Co-Founded and helped build.

Steve P. Jobs 1955 – 2011

Here’s a Cheers and a Toast to a man that deserves every bit of the accolades he’ll receive for his achievements and accomplishments. I’m sure there will be awards and even a holiday named in his honor, but to me personally… Steve Jobs was the Apple of earths eye.

May he rest in peace knowing that his Legacy and name will live on forever in heaven and here on earth.
